Everyone becomes a part of the family when they get a dog from us. It brings us a lot of joy to watch how they are growing up. It is especially rewarding to have puppies go to homes where they provide therapy for their owners. A dog can be a literal lifesaver for people with depression, ptsd and many other things.
We rarely have adults for sale, but occasionally do in order to improve our breeding program or to give them a home that is best suited for them.
We rarely have adults for sale, but occasionally do in order to improve our breeding program or to give them a home that is best suited for them.
All of our puppies are purebred registered under the Canadian Kennel Club and sold by contract with health guarantee. Before puppies leave they have already been microchipped, and have had a full vet check by a qualified licensed vet as well as given all age appropriate puppy shots and deworming. All of our dogs are raised as part of our family and do not live in kennels.
Our breeding dogs are specifically tested in addition to specifically check for patella luxation and heart health and have an AVCO exam by a certified eye specialist. These test results are then sent to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA for short) and for transparency we release ALL of the results onto the public database which grants the dog CHIC certification. We also test DNA through "Embark" to test for any genetic abnormalities or carrier conditions and gain information about traits like color inheritance. It is our opinion that having both physical OFA tests and DNA testing done, a breeder can provide the best preventative care for the future of our breed.
Puppies are sent home with a puppy care package which typically includes a toy, a blanket with momma's scent on it to help reassure the little one, food, a few peepads, vet records, a free insurance trial and info on puppy care. If we have extra goodies, we throw those in too! We offer full support and advice for the new owners for the lifetime of the puppy/dog including helping with emergency re-homing - we never want to see one of our babies in a shelter, or abandoned!
A note on size: There is a continuing trend in the toy dogs for "teacup, micro, pocket or purse" dogs. The pomeranian breed standard does not have different size divisions and a reputable breeder will not sell a dog as a "micro or teacup pom". Although the extremely small poms are fashionable and cute; we do not breed specifically for this as many of these come with health complications, or are at higher risk for these complications. Many of those dogs are also poorly bred with heavy influxes of inbreeding, or using "runts" in order to get a desired size while giving up quality in other characteristics or health. We believe in animals that are able to free whelp their litters (the really tiny ones do not have the space in their pelvis to be able to pass puppies through naturally and often require painful c-sections), and we strive for healthy dogs that match the breed standard. This will not only make for happy, healthier pets, but also further the longevity of the breed as a whole as we strive to improve it. In the end we believe it much more desirable to have a healthy pet than be able to fit it in your purse.
The standard size for Pomeranians is already quite a small dog. The weight of a Pomeranian for exhibition is 3-7 lb. (1-3 kg). The ideal size for show specimens is from 4-5 lb. (1.8-2.3 kg). Some of our poms mature on the smaller end of the spectrum, while others are on the higher end. There are charts online, but they can be quite inaccurate (especially at younger ages). Poms have a way of surprising you, but it also helps to know your lines and how they typically grow. With the onset of DNA testing, it is helping to be able to best match a pair so that they complement each other. There are currently 5 genes that can identified that affect size, and recent discoveries are finding that there are likely several more, so estimating size is not an exact science at this point.
